I’m back at The Good Nite tonight for another Canteen Points comedy show my babies! Show starts at 8pm (no, I don’t know where I am in the lineup) and the drinks are cheap/strong. If you are in the North Hollywood area or wanna go for a lil’ road trip, come on up! I’m dressing up. (And it’s FREE!)
I know I know I know, I’ve been gone a while; don’t take it personally. I’ll tell you all about it in a minute, but first, listen to this next-to-latest episode of Joseph Scrimshaw’s OBSESSED podcast, featuring yours truly obsessing about not Tori Amos, not banjos, not zipper merges, but WEEEEEEEEED!
Well HALLO McCleaniacs! Lo siento para the wait between posts… it’s been a rough month. I’ll get into that later! But for now… A SHOW! A SHOW!
My new Los Angelena pals Molly and Lauren invited me to be their third pardner-in-crime in a new sketch collaboration called “Ditties & Titties!” We’ve been working the past couple of months on a piece that we’ll be presenting this coming Thursday, May 12, at an extremely fun sketch comedy show, chock-full of talent, called Dubtopia. The venue is The Parlor, at 7250 Melrose Ave in Los Angeles… only $10! (or $5 if you come before 7:15pm. Show starts at 8)
Molly wrote the sketch based on our ideas about who our characters are: three cow-ladies making a life on the range in the 1940s/50s. We sing, we make jokes, and there is gonna be a lot of fringe. And the banjo, of course! Right now, our piece is 6 minutes long, but the aim is that we’re going to make it into a bigger show with guests and songs and prizes (I made that last one up)… like Hee-Haw, but sexy and funny and modern!
Who are Molly and Lauren? Well… Molly is Molly Hale, who is a fantastic writer and comedy-maker. Check out this hilarious sketch she penned (featuring the also very awesome Mary Holland):
And Lauren is Lauren Rock, a VO juggernaut and the brains/braun behind Boonzy Arts… purveyors of deliciously-scented GEEKY CANDLES! Including this awesome Bernie Sanders candle in “Revolutionary Rosemary Mint!”
I’m really stoked to be working with these clearly very awesome people.
Wheeeeeee! If you’re in the LA area and are looking for something fun to do this Thursday (the new Friday), please consider coming to Dubtopia! If this one is anything like the last one, it’ll be packed and a rollicking good time. YAY!
